PSYCHO-EDUCATIONAL EVALUATION
Psycho-educationally, I grow smiles in my practice. No one leaves here without one. There are two aha moments that everyone experiences as they pursue psycho-educational assessment and its prescriptive results. The first moment is the delight and relief of validating cognitive strengths and weaknesses. The second moment is learning that there is a game plan for maximizing those strengths, and strengthening those weaknesses.
Throughout a lifetime, anyone can experience cognitive difficulties for a variety of reasons. Identifying those reasons, as well as ways to turn difficulty into competency, can change self-perception and the academic experience forever.
EDUCATIONAL THERAPY
The goal of educational therapy is to teach the student learning techniques that are uniquely suited to their aptitudes. Students apply these learning tools as they study specific academic subjects.
STUDENT-SCHOOL MATCH
As an educational consultant, I help my clients understand who they are and how they fit into the available educational environments. Personality fits are as important as learning styles when it comes to finding an appropriate school match for a student at any level of education. Whether in search of a new school, or finding a way to succeed in a current placement, discriminating between personal attributes and environmental attributes is important in understanding the dynamics of how a student may fit in various environments.
PREPARATION FOR COLLEGE...and beyond.
Let’s take a look at who you are, and how to make your essays and statements reflect you effectively. Similarly, SAT, GRE, LSAT, etc. preparation should begin with your actual skills and hone in on the test expectations. Following college, it’s important to convey who you are in a resume, what you’ve done in a portfolio, and how to engage in conversation through your interview.
